Central Taney Co Fire units were dispatched shortly before 4 this morning for a natural cover fire, believed to have been started as a result of unlawful dumping and burning of a mattress. First arriving units estimated the fire at just over three acres in size, and within 100 feet of a residence. Crews spent the next 4 hours containing the fire. Weather conditions for the day are expected to include gusty winds, and all outdoor burning is discouraged.
