On July 4, 2025, Branson Mayor Larry Milton experienced a medical incident at his home and was taken to a Springfield medical facility. There, he underwent back surgery, which was reported as successful.
According to an official statement from the City of Branson, “Mayor Milton is fully cognizant, is in good spirits, and is maintaining a positive outlook. He will be undergoing physical therapy for the next several weeks as part of his recovery efforts, which will impact his attendance at upcoming board meetings.”
During Mayor Milton’s absence, Alderman Clay Cooper will act as Mayor Pro-Tem and preside over formal city meetings. The city indicated that further updates would be provided when appropriate.
The mayor’s recovery process is expected to take several weeks due to the required physical therapy following his surgery.
